FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What areas do you serve?

We typically serve the Wasatch Front area, but we have traveled out to Wendover, NV and Green River, WY. We have characters in all locations up and down the Wasatch Front to cut down mileage costs. Characters travel for FREE within a 30 mile radius of their location. If you require travel further than that, a small fee for mileage will be charged. We are happy to travel! Just let us know what you require.

We recommend 4-6 weeks in advance for most characters. We will do our best to accommodate last minute requests, although you may have to be flexible on the character request.

It is recommended that the party is held close to home, if not at home. If the party is too far away, the guests will find it difficult to travel. Any recreation center, park, church facility, clubhouse, etc. is also acceptable. Please plan for inclement weather. Please also respect the characters and their costumes and do not hold parties at places that will be difficult for them to maintain their dignity. We must be informed of special venues so that we can plan ahead with you in order to accommodate your needs. (Example, we are supportive of having a Mermaid party by the pool, or Spiderman party at a climbing gym - we just need to be aware of these circumstances so we can plan with you to determine the best fit for your party needs.) If temperatures will reach 90°, an indoor location is required for the safety of our performers.

The booking fee is non-refundable. However, if we fail to deliver your party based on a no-show character or problem on OUR part, we will do our best to either reschedule or issue you a full refund including the cost of the party and booking fee. Please understand that we require a safe environment for our characters. If, for any reason, our characters arrive and feel unsafe at the environment provided, they have the right to leave. They will notify us, and we will discuss the situation afterwards. A refund may be offered, though it is possible that in some situations, there will be no refund.

Should I tip my character?

If you feel that your character has done an exceptional job, tipping is appreciated and accepted. You can discreetly offer them cash at the end of the event, or venmo us @characterbooking. If your character has exceeded expectations, please let them know! We are very proud of the work our team members put into their performance.

If you let us know with enough time, we will do our best to accommodate your request. Don’t hesitate to contact us with questions. We can create nearly any character when given advance notice.

After we receive your payment, we will send you a confirmation email repeating to you the specifics you requested in your email. The day before your event, you should be contacted by your character to confirm details as well.

If you cancel or reschedule your party ten days in advance, we will make a reasonable attempt to reschedule, although a different character may have to be used. If rescheduling cannot occur, you will receive the cost of your character refunded to you. The booking fee is non-refundable. If the party is canceled with shorter notice, we will again make a reasonable attempt to reschedule, but will not issue a refund if rescheduling is not possible.

The nature of certain costuming may be more intricate or specialized than others. For that reason, some characters must be booked together or have a non character assistant be sent with them. Many characters require a few hours to fully prepare, and cannot see or hear properly, or have limited mobility when fully dressed. For their safety and the safety of guests, they must be booked as a group.

Most parties are generally booked on Friday or Saturday, though any other day or time is also acceptable.

It depends! If you are planning a birthday party for a child, feel free to ask them who their favorite character is, and make plans accordingly.  If you are hosting an event, just ask us who you think would be a good fit for your theme! Our Ice Queen is always a popular choice no matter what the event. Also keep in mind the time of  year! During Halloween, our villains are always a hit!  If it is the Winter Holiday season, we have an array of Christmas and other holiday characters!

Our booking system accepts all major credit cards. First, we take a booking deposit to secure your date, and then the remaining balance is due at least one week before your event. You will have the option to pay in full and receive a discount, or set up your own payment plan.

We are willing to work out special circumstances. Send us a request via our booking form!

LIABILITY

Character Booking is not responsible for any damage, injury or other accidents that may occur while on site. We are also not responsible for allergic reactions that may be caused by food, facepaint, balloons, or other items. A supervising adult is required at all parties for children under the age of 18, and they will be responsible for the care and management of all children present.

Note: While we strive to provide quality entertainment, it is not our intention to violate copyright laws. Our characters are generic, NOT name brand, copyrighted or licensed characters. If you need a licensed, copyrighted character at your event, please contact the company/copyright holder for the character you require.
